Translation of the verse 104 from Surah Al-Mu’minun : Number of verses 118 - - page 348 - Part 18.

﴾تَلۡفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمۡ فِيهَا كَٰلِحُونَ ﴿
[ المؤمنون: 104]

The Fire will burn their faces, and therein they will grin, with displaced lips (disfigured).

The Fire will sear their faces, and they therein will have taut smiles.

*97) The word kalih means a face whose skin has been removed so as to expose the jaws. When somebody asked Hadrat `Abdullah bin Mas`ud the meaning of kalih, he said, "Haven't you seen the scorched head of a slaughtered animal?"
