Surat Al-Anbiya’ Verse No. 13: Reading and listening

Translation of the verse 13 from Surah Al-Anbiya’ : Number of verses 112 - - page 323 - Part 17.

﴾لَا تَرۡكُضُواْ وَٱرۡجِعُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتۡرِفۡتُمۡ فِيهِ وَمَسَٰكِنِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُسۡـَٔلُونَ ﴿
[ الأنبياء: 13]

Flee not, but return to that wherein you lived a luxurious life, and to your homes, in order that you may be questioned.

English - Sahih International

[Some angels said], "Do not flee but return to where you were given luxury and to your homes - perhaps you will be questioned."

Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(21:13) (Then it was said to them:) "Do not run away: go back to the same life of luxury and the houses where you were making merry: perhaps you may be asked about it." *14

*14) This is a very meaningful sentence. It may mean:
(1) "Examine this scourge minutely so that if someone asks you about it, you may be able to give an accurate account of it."
(2) "Hold your grand meetings as usual: perhaps your servants may come with folded hands before you to receive orders."
(3) "Hold your councils as before, perhaps people may still come to ask for your wise counsels."
