Translation of the verse 30 from Surah AT-Tur : Number of verses 49 - - page 524 - Part 27.

﴾أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٞ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيۡبَ ٱلۡمَنُونِ ﴿
[ الطور: 30]

Or do they say: "(Muhammad SAW is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time!

Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?"

(52:30) Or do they say: 'He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.' *23

*23) That is, "We arc waiting for him to be afflicted with calamity so that we be rid of him. " Probably they thought that since Muhammad (upon whom be Allah's peace and blessings) was opposing their deities and denying their supernatural powers, he would fall under the curse of some deity, or some bold devotee of a god would put an end to him.
