Surat Ghafir Verse No. 39: Reading and listening

Translation of the verse 39 from Surah Ghafir : Number of verses 85 - - page 471 - Part 24.

﴾يَٰقَوۡمِ إِنَّمَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا مَتَٰعٞ وَإِنَّ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ ٱلۡقَرَارِ ﴿
[ غافر: 39]

"O my people! Truly, this life of the world is nothing but a (quick passing) enjoyment, and verily, the Hereafter that is the home that will remain forever."

English - Sahih International

O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter - that is the home of [permanent] settlement.

Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(40:39) My people, the life of this world is ephemeral, *56 whereas the Hereafter, that is the permanent abode.

*56) That is, 'You are being forgetful of Allah on account of your pride in the transient wealth and prosperity of this world: this is your folly."
