Translation of the verse 53 from Surah Al-Baqarah : Number of verses 286 - - page 8 - Part 1.

﴾وَإِذۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُونَ ﴿
[ البقرة: 53]

And (remember) when We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)] and the criterion (of right and wrong) so that you may be guided aright.

And [recall] when We gave Moses the Scripture and criterion that perhaps you would be guided.

(2:53) Remember that (at that very time, when you were committing this gross iniquity) We gave Moses the Book and the criterion of right and wrong *69 so that you might be guided aright.
