Surat Al-Baqarah Verse No. 10: Reading and listening

Translation of the verse 10 from Surah Al-Baqarah : Number of verses 286 - - page 3 - Part 1.

﴾فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضٗاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمُۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡذِبُونَ ﴿
[ البقرة: 10]

In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies.

English - Sahih International

In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie.

(2:10) In their hearts is a disease which Allah has increased all the more *12 and a painful doom is in store for them for the lie they utter.

*12). ' Disease' here refers to the disease of hypocrisy. The statement that 'Allah has intensified this disease' means that He does not punish the hypocrites immediately but allows them to indulge in their hypocrisy and exult in the success of their ruses. This feeling of success intensifies their hypocrisy.
