Surat Al-Ahqaf Verse No. 23: Reading and listening
Translation of the verse 23 from Surah Al-Ahqaf : Number of verses 35 - - page 505 - Part 26.
﴾قَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّآ أُرۡسِلۡتُ بِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنِّيٓ أَرَىٰكُمۡ قَوۡمٗا تَجۡهَلُونَ ﴿
[ الأحقاف: 23]
He said: "The knowledge (of the time of its coming) is with Allah only, and I convey to you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see that you are a people given to ignorance!"
English - Sahih International
He said, "Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allah, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly."
Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(46:23) He replied: 'Allah alone knows about this. *26 I only convey to you the Message that I have been sent with. But I see that you are an ignorant people.' *27

*26) That is, "Allah alone knows as to when the torment will descend on you and for how long you will be granted respite."
*27) That is, "You are taking my warning as a joke in your ignorance and are demanding the torment for fun. You have no idea of how dreadful is God's torment and how near at hand it might have approached because of your misdeeds. "
