إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انفَطَرَتْ(1)
82:1 When the sky breaks apart

وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ(2)
82:2 And when the stars fall, scattering,

وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ(3)
82:3 And when the seas are erupted

وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ(4)
82:4 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered,

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ(5)
82:5 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.

يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ(6)
82:6 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,

الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ(7)
82:7 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?

فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ(8)
82:8 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ(9)
82:9 No! But you deny the Recompense.

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ(10)
82:10 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,

كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ(11)
82:11 Noble and recording;

يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ(12)
82:12 They know whatever you do.

إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ(13)
82:13 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,

وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ(14)
82:14 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ(15)
82:15 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,

وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ(16)
82:16 And never therefrom will they be absent.

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ(17)
82:17 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ(18)
82:18 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ(19)
82:19 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
