لَا أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ(1)
75:1 I swear by the Day of Resurrection
وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ(2)
75:2 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].
أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ(3)
75:3 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?
بَلَىٰ قَادِرِينَ عَلَىٰ أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ(4)
75:4 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.
بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ(5)
75:5 But man desires to continue in sin.
يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ(6)
75:6 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ(7)
75:7 So when vision is dazzled
وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ(8)
75:8 And the moon darkens
وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ(9)
75:9 And the sun and the moon are joined,
يَقُولُ الْإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ(10)
75:10 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ(11)
75:11 No! There is no refuge.
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ(12)
75:12 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.
يُنَبَّأُ الْإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ(13)
75:13 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.
بَلِ الْإِنسَانُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ(14)
75:14 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُ(15)
75:15 Even if he presents his excuses.
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ(16)
75:16 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an.
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ(17)
75:17 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ(18)
75:18 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ(19)
75:19 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ(20)
75:20 No! But you love the immediate
وَتَذَرُونَ الْآخِرَةَ(21)
75:21 And leave the Hereafter.
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ(22)
75:22 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ(23)
75:23 Looking at their Lord.
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَاسِرَةٌ(24)
75:24 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ(25)
75:25 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.
كَلَّا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِيَ(26)
75:26 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ(27)
75:27 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?"
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ(28)
75:28 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation
وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ(29)
75:29 And the leg is wound about the leg,
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ(30)
75:30 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ(31)
75:31 And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed.
وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ(32)
75:32 But [instead], he denied and turned away.
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ يَتَمَطَّىٰ(33)
75:33 And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ(34)
75:34 Woe to you, and woe!
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ(35)
75:35 Then woe to you, and woe!
أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى(36)
75:36 Does man think that he will be left neglected?
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِيٍّ يُمْنَىٰ(37)
75:37 Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ(38)
75:38 Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and proportioned [him]
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ(39)
75:39 And made of him two mates, the male and the female.
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَن يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَىٰ(40)
75:40 Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?
